A Night to Re"LAX"

Even at 28 it's fun to celebrate your birthday, but it's so much exciting when the celebration last all week. This year my gift from Renee was a surprise stay at the Sheraton near LAX for a night free of kids and a chance to play with my camera. It was great to share time together where we could focus on eachother without the distracting joys of parenting. No kids menus at dinner and no diaper changing. Just changing of the shutter speed and ISO on the camera. Here are some pics of our night...and morning out.

Do I Have to Have a Title?

OK I got jipped on my last blog because the stupid computer scan started and made the computer slow and made me all impatient and I paniced and I hit the post button prematurely. So here's a few more pics....Dang, I need to clean my keyboard. Gotta lotta dust building up under the
space bar.

Don't Worry, I'm Still Alive.

I was recently informed that I haven't posted an update since October, so this may be old news to you or new news. I'm pregnant!!!! Ehhhh. That's just the gut I obtained from the holidays, but now I'm working it off. So what's happened since Halloween? Well, the Heberts came to visit us in California, and brought the rain with them. Suit Man got a krispy kreme donut, Michelle got In-n-Out and Chad got a victory on the golf course with rental clubs....cheater. Nate Dogg turned 1!!!! Nay made an awesome Charlie Brown shirt and Birthday cake (it was gooooooood). It's scary to think of how fast his first year flew by. He's walking around like a pro and has certinly shown a desire for independence. This year was kinda cool cuz we gotta celebrate Christmas 3 times. The kids really enjoyed it. So did my gut. It's fun to see how all the kids respond to the wrapping paper and bows and occasionally the presents. Carissa performed in her second dance recital on stage in Fullerton. No agents have called yet, but Julliard has been in contact with her a few times. After her breakthrough performanve we took an 8 hour drive into Tucson to visit 7 family members and 6 dogs for a week. Nathan learned how to say "Duh," which means dog. He has also learned how to say ball and play. He is currently training with the UCLA defensive unit but he still doesn't want to burn his redshirt. Nay and I are back to our teaching schedule. She's back to being Mrs. Villalovos and is currently teaching Carissa about the 7 continents. Australia is the first one on the list and Carissa already knows how to say words that I didn't even know existed. I am very proud of both of my girls for what they have accomplished together. Awana is back in session so I have begun my studies on what to teach teenagers....ahh....teenagers. I should start with grammar and vocabulary. I am vary thankful that these kids have stuck around and look forward to them growing into faithful servants. New years was pretty laid back. We spent it with the "rents" and Harcrows. A movie, games and Dick Clark! As i type this up andsee my family, I am reminded of how blessed I am and how gracious the Lord has been to me. To Him be honor and glory, Amen. LoVe Ya:)

Mira, Que Chula.

Well, we didn't get any free candy, but we sure had a great night!! Dinner at Red Robin's with our neighb0rs meant no dishes to wash:) We ate dinner with Angelina Ballerina, Good Ol' Charlie Brown, Batman and Pebbles. We carved some pumpkins, ate a butt load of Jelly Belly's and made some caramel apples. It was a night that ended with blood shot eyes, but many unforgettable memories.

Your're a good man Charlie Brown.

Cheeeeeeese!....anybody got any cheese?

A Day at the Fair

What better way to burn a huge hole in your pocket than a day at the L.A. County Fair? Nathan was certainly excited to go to his second fair, after all, he remembered over priced junk food and no bed time. Carissa was dying to get back on a carousel, but she didn't mind killing time looking at animals and getting her face painted in the mean time. She even posed for countless pictures along the way. I must say that I am a sucker for all the many things you can buy at the fair, but luckily I see the broken products in the strollers of other suckers who bought them earlier which saves me lots of money. It was so fun to experience such memorable moments with some new faces this year. Jen, Drue and Lake were are newbies this year, along with my coworker Chris and his wife, Melanie. Carissa preferred holding Melanie's hand over mine(when Grandma wasn't around) and was very excited to share some cotton candy with her. She and Nathan basically had two extra grandparents spoiling them for the evening. I was very stoked to win Nathan a big prize in that basketball shooting contest, and mommy won Carissa a Dora doll. It was an awesome day at the fair, and there was no better feeling than my head hitting the pillow at the end of the night.

Daddy, you're crazy.

Taking a break form the excitement. Yeah, both woke up later to enjoy some rides.

Nate Dogg's first carousel ride... at 11:30p.m.

Nate Dogg at The Big A

Me and my son at his first ball game. Go Angels!!!

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game"

Well, it only took us 9 months and nearly a whole season to get Nathan to his first baseball game , but it was absolutely worth it!! He's a natural born sports fan. He was quite the curious cat as we walked to the stadium, never before seeing such large hats or so many cars. Inside the ball park he was beyond amazed, which made it fun to watch his facial expressions and try to figure out what was going on in his dome. He loved the field and danced to the music. He flirted with every girl he saw...married or not. He clapped when we clapped and jumped to each and every firework...except for the whole firework show he slept through after the game. Mommy, Carissa and Daddy all enjoyed pretzels with cheese and did n dots. Carissa also danced the night away every chance she got. She also remembered losing her baby unicorn here last time. Nay called the Angel's game winning home run in the bottom of the ninth, right before the pitcher threw his last pitch. It was a great night out for the family...one we'll have to do again.
